Those are both Leviathans! Congrats on some Big Fish. Here's a 50 pound Cobia (Ling) I caught in Florida.

This is true. Nothing I've ever caught on rod and reel fought like this Cobia, and I've caught some rather large fish in my life. It made my Penn 6/0 sing like a sewing machine; tail walked, jump many times, and sounded like a Tuna. It took 20 minutes to land, and that took two gaff's. We tried our best to silence this fish with billy clubs but it took a hammer to kill this fish. Cobia can be dangerous in a boat. Their spiney dorsal fins are separated and not webbed like most fish. They resemble #2 pencils that stick out about 3/4 of an inch and very powerful tail muscles. It was an event more than anything, especially at 3 o'clock in the morning. Woke up nearly everyone that was sleeping below deck.
